"O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." Psalm 107:1
Hello everyone. I am sure everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving, I know we are. DH is away at NCOA so me and the girls are hosting Thanksgiving here at the house with some dear friends. I am very much looking forward to it :) My husband, luckily, is about 2 hours from my mom and dad so he will be spending Thanksgiving week end with them. It makes me more at ease he will have family with him.
I thought I would do one last post on some more Thanksgiving recipes. One of my favorite desserts ever is Apple Pie and several years back I found a recipe on Kraft Foods called Apple Pear Crumble Pie. This has been a huge hit to everyone I have ever made it for. Kudos to the person or persons that came up with this recipe. I share this last year as well, but those of you that missed it, here it is again.
HEAT oven to 375ºF.
MIX wafer crumbs, brown sugar and butter until well blended; set aside.
PLACE pie crust in 9-inch pie plate sprayed with cooking spray. Spread cream cheese carefully onto bottom of crust; sprinkle with half the crumb mixture. Combine fruit in large bowl. Add granulated sugar, flour and cinnamon; toss to coat. Spoon over crumb layer in crust; sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.
BAKE 35 min. or until fruit is tender and crust is lightly browned, covering loosely with foil after 25 min. if necessary to prevent crust from overbrowning. Cool. Serve topped with COOL WHIP.
A new recipe I will be trying this year is Missy's Peanut Butter Passion Cake. It take a tried and true chocolate cake recipe I have been using for a while now and puts the most delicious sounding icing on top!! You can find the recipe here.
This year I think I am trying Martha Stewart's Perfect Roast Turkey!! My friend raves about this turkey so I am giving it a try this year.
You want a fast turkey then I have heard good things about a 2 hour turkey and you can find the recipe here.
On an entirely different subject, I have no idea why my post is showing up in 2 different fonts after I have made numerous efforts to change it.
I want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!! God Bless.
