Not so Manic Monday

Verse of the Day:
“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” - Colossians 1:27-28

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a very blessed Easter and remembered why we celebrate it! It is NOT an Easter Bunny that brings candy, but what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross and rising again 3 days later. With that being said, most of you know we don't do Santa Clause so therefore we do not do the Easter Bunny. I am sure most of you read my blog around Christmas time that explained why so I won't go back into that.

My girls had a good Easter! Ask my 4 year old what Easter is about and what we celebrate. She will tell you Jesus and what He did for us. They still get an Easter basket they just know that Mommy and Daddy buy that candy, and guess what? They are not scarred! Imagine that??!?? And they still have their childhood in tact!! WOW ;)

Not too much going on really. FINALLY!!!! Things are starting to settle down a touch. Emma Bear has been on Spring Break since the 18th and goes back to school tomorrow. She is very much looking forward to it. DH just got back from Hawaii and I will have pics posted sometime this week.

I guess the next thing coming up holiday wise would be Mother's Day! This one is gonna be extra hard on my Mama. She lost her Mom a little over a week ago so this will be the first Mother's Day without her. Please pray for her. I can't even begin to imagine what that must feel like.

Me and the girls have Mommy and Me pictures coming up with the fabulous Lesley Worely Photography! They are gonna be fabulous I know. I can't wait. This will be the first session with me and the girls.  She is a fabulous photographer!

I am off for the day. This is still a vacation day for DH and Emma Bear. I am going to be posting more regularly now that things have settled down and will be doing some more reviews and hopefully giveaways. In the meantime don't forget to check out my bestie's blog, Luxury Living Frugal Style for some fantastic, deals, reviews, and giveaways!!! Have a fabulous Monday everyone! Also check out some awesome blog hops below.

"Living He Loved Me..Dying He Saved Me...."

"In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me." Matthew 28:1-10

Hello everyone. So sorry I have been absent on my blog for a while. First of all, I wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Easter!!!! Please remember why this holiday is celebrated. It is not an easter bunny who brings candy but Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross and what happened 3 days later. Thank GOD He paid for my sin debt in full almost 2000 years ago! Praise the Lord I have to do nothing!! It is done!! When I believed that, I was sealed!!!! The above video is one of my favorite songs that Casting Crowns does!!! Please take the time to listen. "Living He loved me, dying He saved me, buried He carried my sins far away. Rising He justified freely forever. One day He's coming oh glorious day."

On a much sadder note, My precious Grandmother went home to be with the Lord last week. She is not suffering any longer and I know is in a much better place. Please remember my Mama and her sister and brother in your prayers! Exactly a week later, my brother in law's Grandma went home to be with the Lord as well. It is such a sad time yet happy time in a way. Thank God for the gift of His Son. It is because of Him they are able to go to heaven.
On that note, I am off of here until Monday. I hope everyone has a very blessed Easter! May God richly bless you.

Government Shutdown

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is having an okay day. Wish mine was better. I am just scared to death about what is going to happen if our government does not reach some kind of agreement! But thanks to Luxury Living Frugal Style and National Military Family Association I have learned there will be some kind of relief for military members who will need it. I have learned too that retirees will not be affected by the shutdown in the event that there is one. Their funding comes from a different source. You can read more about what will happen here and also here

In a nutshell what will happen is:
The commissaries will be closed!
Government Employees will only receive 1/2 of their paycheck (April 1-8)
Military is still expected to report for duty and all those on TDYs NOT DEPLOYMENTS will be sent home.

All of this happens in the event a budget is not passed or Obama decides to veto the stopgap budget that will allow government employees an additional week of pay and the military to be paid through the end of the fiscal year. He has said he would veto this. That is another argument all together and I REALLY hope he does not make that mistake. You can read a bit about the stopgap here.

Below are some links that will be helpful in the event you will need aid until normal pay resumes.

Air Force Aid Society (AFAS)    www.afas.org
Army Emergency Relief (AER)   www.aerhq.org
Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA)   www.cgmahq.org
Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS)   www.nmcrs.org
Reserve Aid   www.reserveaid.org

I hope everyone has a good day and I pray that our government can reach a decision before it is too late.
